Philly Sports Reloaded

Over the past two seasons, there hasn't been a whole lot of things to be excited about in the world of Philadelphia sports. With the Eagles finishing with a 4-12 record and the departure from Andy Reid followed by poor season performances from the other main three South Philly franchises, the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers, the 2012-2013 season was forgettable. While the Phillies and Flyers return to the top of their leagues remains to be seen, the Sixers, who I expected to finish toward the bottom of the Eastern conference, have been the biggest surprise. Brett Brown has come in and done a great job leading the new-look Sixers. One of the contenders for Rookie of the Year, Michael Carter-Williams has been absolutely phenomenal in making key plays. The initial statement was made by M.C.W on Opening Night defeating the World Champion, Miami Heat. While the team is still in rebuilding mode, I am excited about what the future holds for this team in the next two years. The other bright spot has been the positive season so far for the Philadelphia Eagles. Chip Kelly has done a great job moving this team in the right direction. Nick Foles has really proved he can be a starting Quarterback in the NFL and can hopefully become a key player over the next decade for this Franchise. Things are moving in the right direction with another Division title in reach at the end of this season. Exciting times are ahead. Lets hope that the trend keeps moving upward for these teams. Only time will tell.
